About Us

Sussex House has a clear and simple aim: to provide person-centred care in partnership with other professionals and our residents. We believe that people who choose to live with us should be at the centre of everything we do and that they should make decisions about their own care.

At the heart of our approach is the desire to give our residents maximum choice and enable them to lead full and independent lives. We pride ourselves in rehabilitating service users to return to their homes within the community

Our Vision is to be recognised and renowned for “A caring and responsive Home that puts service and quality at the heart of our business”.

Our Mission is to listen, learn and improve so that we are able to:
•Maintain our position as a leading, well-respected care provider.
•Deliver a great service that meets the person-centred needs of our residents.
•Meet essential standards of quality and safety.
•Provide a safe, caring and enabling environment.
•Enable our staff to be all that they can for our residents.
•Make our business stronger for the future.

Our values underpin everything that we do at Sussex House and give an insight into our culture. These are the behaviours that you should expect to see on a daily basis:
•We put the resident’s individual wellbeing at the heart of our entire decision making.
•We are passionate about what we do and strive to make a positive difference to people’s lives.
•We are each responsible for delivering great service and to meet each resident’s unique needs.
•Everyone is encouraged to make suggestions; we are always seeking to improve.
•We are one team working to the commitment of family values to develop a strong and efficient business.
•We will actively listen to and investigate issues raised, then problem solve together.
•We believe in fair and equal treatment and opportunity for our residents and staff.
•We aim to provide a service that is ‘value for money’ without compromising on quality.

Our Quality Control:

The support team is led by a qualified and experienced manager, Melina Coggan. We support our staff through effective management, training opportunities and career progression.

Our commitment to providing our employees with appropriate training ensures that our residents are always looked after by experienced and well-trained care professionals, who understand the needs of each individual. Our home is regularly rated by external inspectors and inspection reports are available.

Sussex House provides support to staff and ensures they complete their training plans. This, in turn, ensures that full training records are kept. In addition, all staff undergo regular reviews, where they are able to discuss future training needs and requirements to fulfil their roles within the home.

Our maintenance team continually reviews and upgrades our home to ensure the accommodation is maintained to a high standard and is appropriate for the needs of our residents.
